Nicaragua is a country of tremendous natural resources. There is unlimited water, a temperate climate, an excellent economical workforce; as well as excellent geothermal, solar, and wind energy potential.
Nicaragua is currently experiencing explosive development. It is one of the safest countries in the world per many sources. Many people say it is the next Costa Rica. We hope not. That country has experienced explosive development which has disenfranchised its people as foreigners have profited. Many people have come to commit similar perpetration upon Nicaragua.
We are against development that denudes the land, leaves the locals landless and jobless; it only creates an atmosphere of resentment which will ultimately result in a poor business climate. We hope to learn humility, graciousness, and indigenous knowledge of plants and nature from our local neighbors. We hope to inspire and empower them with knowledge, experience, and resources to create a better model of how to live on the planet together. We intend to include our neighbors in our bounty; sharing successful seed and technique with them. Respect is the most important part of all; respect for the people, respect for nature, and a healthy respect for the rights of future generations. We want to leave this place a better place than we found it; a world that our grandchildren can enjoy together. We believe that this is critical to a healthy business climate.
Finca Java S.A. was created to invest in land in a way that empowers and employs the local community. The intent is to create a sustainable business model through a partnership with the local community. The goals are to preserve nature for future generations while creating a continually improving, sustainable, self-sufficient, and low environmental impact community. Emphasis is on stewardship of the land while developing a full range of farm products through various sustainable technologies. While the primary emphasis will be agricultural, the touristic potential of the land will be continually enhanced by the way it is planned out. Houses or hotels can fit easily into the landscape created by coffee plants intermixed with bananas and large trees which shade the coffee. We expect to participate in the improvement of all local services to which our community has access. This will include churches, schools, and health facilities. We believe that a spiritual, well educated and healthy work force is essential to long term success.
The Apanas Lake region is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. The lake is at 3,000 feet elevation and the mountains around it rise up to 7,000 feet. It was created as an artificial lake to provide hydroelectric power to the area. The area enjoys a wetter climate than much of Nicaragua, and stays green year-round. It is ideal for growing coffee. Many of the farms that we are acquiring currently have organic coffee on some part of the land. Coffee is the most viable cash crop; although all manner of vegetables and fruits can be grown in the region. Annual agricultural returns of up to fifty percent on investment are feasible. A model prospectus is included herein. This area is poised for the development of bed and breakfasts, hotels, lake front restaurants, recreational facilities, as well as building lots and homes to serve the eminent arrival of baby boomers looking for the ideal spot to retire in. The potential for return on this level is unlimited.
